The Ramada is a budget hotel in a Service area, so don't expect luxury. On the other hand, the rooms are a good size, clean and quiet with excellent beds. The staff are professional and friendly. Breakfast is by way of a HarryRamsden voucher which entitles you to a large breakfast plus a hot drink and toast. Harry's is also willing to stop items so that you get the breakfast you prefer.

O.K. hotel for overnight stop. Staff are helpful and English-speaking. Rooms are reasonable sized and priced. T.V. and WiFi provided. No restaurant facilities on-site, but numerous fast-food outlets available in nearby Services.

Potters Bar Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

Bradmore Green, Brookmans Park, Hatfield AL9 7QW, UK – 01707 664144

Lovely atmosphere. The staff are really friendly. We had great banter with our waiter. The service is very good as is food. I would just like to see a few more vegetarian options on the menu. Would definitely go back here and recommend it to other people

Great place. Friendly helpful staff. No baby change available and the gents needed an air freshener but other than that very nice

The Duke of York

Ganwick Corner, Barnet Rd, Barnet, Potters Bar, Barnet EN5 4SG, UK – 020 8440 4674

Just wanted to say how great our experience was at the Duke of York yesterday evening. It was our first visit to the pub and now I think we will be making regular trips here. From start to finish we felt really looked after by the staff, especially the manager, I think his name was Philip. He was attentive and looked after us and made us feel very welcome and special, he even helped my friend with food choices as well as some really good knowledge of wine too - I was really impressed. The food was great, well presented and very tasty. We were only going to have a little something but ended up have puddings too, I would recommend the small waffle with a coffee, really great value. Fantastic service, we will definitely be returning!

Really like the staff, and the pub in general. Never been that keen on the menu, as in the choices available to order, but the food that I've had has always been good. Update July 18 we just keep coming back here. It is very popular at weekends be warned but we really like this place and the staff are definitely more helpful and friendly these days. Oh and the menu is much improved too!

The Old Manor

Wyllyotts Place, Darkes Ln, Potters Bar EN6 2JD, UK – 01707 650674

Just had a very pleasant lunch with friends. The service very good. No waiting between courses. My starter of salt and pepper squid very good Altogether the food was of a good standard.

Popped in today for a small bite to eat. Turned out we had a massive portion of food and probably shouldn't have ordered nachos but I'm not complaining. Every bite we managed was amazing. Service was very good and very quick. Would happily drop in next time I'm near! My god that sandwich... It was something else!
